Canoe PictureMeanwhile, we recommend this concert:

Paddle your own canoe!

by The Canal Singers (Conductor Hugh Barton) and
Camtabile (conductor Paul Phillips) with
Jemima Phillips (Harp)

7.30 pm on Sunday 28 October at St Cyr's church. Tickets £10.

There will be some lovely music, mostly with a watery theme, including Vaughan Williams folk settings, Tippett’s extraordinary ‘Deep River’ and 'Lilliburlero',  Gibbons ’Silver Swan’,  and songs from the shows. There will be a ‘Canal Wassail', a nonsense song ‘Gnus in Canoes’ by Rachel Hamilton and the 'Trow Song' by Norma Mills. But perhaps the highlight will be harp music played by Jemima Phillips - she is a phenomenal player! At the end the two choirs, harpist and a young 16-year-old percussionist will join in a joyful new work by Hugh Barton.
