Times of Peace
Holy Trinity Church, Stroud
Saturday 10 November 2018 at 7.30 pm

The centenary of the Armistice in November 1918 inspired this programme of music from the 17th century to the present day.

The concert will include works by Schütz, Locke, Purcell, Handel, Parry and Blatchly.

Featuring a new commission, Sea of Tears, a poem specially written by local poet Frances March,
set to music by Matthew Clark, who sings at Gloucester Cathedral.
To end the concert, we give the second performance of Jubilate Deo by Stephen Gowland, commissioned by The Cappella Singers in 2015.

With solo singers, organ and both period and modern brass instruments.
